# NPC's as Hostages

NPC's <mark style="color:red;">**CANNOT**</mark> and should not be used as hostages

* The only <mark style="color:green;">**exception**</mark> applies to 24/7's, LTD's, and liquor stores

<mark style="color:orange;">**BE MINDFUL:**</mark>

Locals are to be treated as regular civilians (charges applied are at the officer's discretion).&#x20;

Examples include (but are not limited to):

* Hostage taking charges for NPC's at any of above referenced locations
* Assault against an NPC (without reason like self-defense)
* Running an NPC over
