# Criminal/Cop Baiting

* An officer should not approach criminals with the intent of provoking them. This does **NOT** include trying to have a normal conversation or the performance of a "sting operation.
* More specifically, don't approach somebody that hasn't committed and is not reasonably suspected to have committed a crime and shit-talk or coerce them in order to arrest them.
* Criminals are also not to bait police into a scenario ESPECIALLY with the intent to start a shootout

{% hint style="info" %}
**Example**

Shooting from your vehicle just for police to receive a call about it and come to your location for you to get an interaction.
{% endhint %}
