# Bleed/Lacerations

Locaed on any part of the body. Blood may be trickling or pouring from injury depending on the severity.

Symptoms:

* Pain (moderate to major)
* Redness
* Numbness
* Lack of feeling around the area
* Possible foreign objects&#x20;
* Shock: Cold, pale, clammy, dry skin
* Diaphoretic: Pale, sweating heavily
* Passing out (either from blood loss or fear of blood)

**What happens on scene:**

* Bleeding control: holding pressure, covering, or applying tourniquet&#x20;
* Clean with saline
* Remove debris
* Pinch off artery if major&#x20;
* Keeping pt warm
* Preventing shock
* Stabalizing foreign objects (depends on what it is and how deep)
* Control pain with medication
* IV
