🩸Bleed/Lacerations

Locaed on any part of the body. Blood may be trickling or pouring from injury depending on the severity.

Symptoms:

  • Pain (moderate to major)

  • Redness

  • Numbness

  • Lack of feeling around the area

  • Possible foreign objects

  • Shock: Cold, pale, clammy, dry skin

  • Diaphoretic: Pale, sweating heavily

  • Passing out (either from blood loss or fear of blood)

What happens on scene:

  • Bleeding control: holding pressure, covering, or applying tourniquet

  • Clean with saline

  • Remove debris

  • Pinch off artery if major

  • Keeping pt warm

  • Preventing shock

  • Stabalizing foreign objects (depends on what it is and how deep)

  • Control pain with medication

  • IV
