Requirements

These requirements must be met by any applicant wishing to gain a firearm license and maintained by any firearm license holder while in possession of a legally-owned firearm.

  • You must be AT LEAST 21 years of age, at the time of your application.

  • You must be free of any disabilities or disorders which may impede your ability to possess and use a firearm safely. **You can contact SAMS to be evaluated if your condition allows you to hold a firearms license and if they issue you a signed medical certificate, you may apply.

  • Must not be subject to an active restraining order.

  • You must not use a personal firearm for any reason other than self-defence or in the case of specific firearms, for the secondary purpose of that firearm i.e. flare guns for wilderness activities.

  • You must not have an addiction to any kind of narcotic or be impaired by chronic alcoholism.

  • You should have an adequate reason as to why you wish to obtain a firearms license in your application.

  • You must not have been convicted of a violent felony.

Regulations

These regulations must be followed at all times, while carrying an active firearm license.

  • You are responsible for remaining up to date with the Requirements & Regulations.

  • You must abide by the penal code and the firearms-related codes, at all times.

  • When in possession of a firearm in the presence of law enforcement, you must make it known that you have a firearm in your possession regardless of whether you are asked first or not.

  • When in possession of a firearm, and upon the request from a Peace Officer, you must present your firearms license, and if requested, temporarily surrender your firearm along with any modifications.

  • You are solely responsible for your permitted firearm. Should your firearm be stolen or lost, you must report it immediately. You should under no circumstances let other people possess your firearm, unless as part of an official shooting club event and they have a permit for the same model of firearm.

  • You may not consume any alcohol or be intoxicated with your firearm(s) in your possession.

  • You may not be in an establishment that serves alcohol, with your firearm(s) in your possession. **On duty Peace Officers and employees of the San Andreas State Government whilst on official duties are exempt from this rule.

  • You CANNOT open carry within the State of San Andreas. Your firearm must remain completely concealed. This means no leg holsters, hip holsters, or shoulder holsters. Your firearm must NOT be visible.

  • In the case you need to discharge your firearm in self defense: -Call police IMMEDIATELY and remain on scene until an officer comes to take the report. Failure to do so could result in criminal charges.

  • If at any point you are charged with a felony, you will permanently lose your firearms license and will no longer be able to own or possess a firearm
