# Civil Court

### <mark style="color:orange;">Initiation</mark>

* The Plaintiff initiates the hearing by submitting a request and paying a processing fee of $5,000 to the Department of Justice.

### <mark style="color:orange;">Representation</mark>

* Both the Plaintiff and the Defendant may represent themselves or hire legal counsel.

### <mark style="color:orange;">Case Requirements</mark>

* The Plaintiff must demonstrate that the Defendant’s actions resulted in measurable harm or injury. This harm may be physical, financial, emotional, or any other type of recognized damage.

### <mark style="color:orange;">Hearing and Decision</mark>

* A judge will hear evidence from both parties and issue a final, binding order.  \
  The court’s decision will be posted on the Government website.

### <mark style="color:orange;">Restrictions on Suits</mark>

* Citizens cannot sue any law enforcement agency/Medical Center unless they have previously filed a complaint with that agencies Internal Affairs.
